LawMatchTM is a venture of Lawscape Communications Pty Ltd, a company that provides plain English legal information on the internet, and Barker Australia Pty Ltd, practice development consultants to the legal profession.
LAWSCAPE COMMUNICATIONS
Lawscape Communications, through its commercial website Law4u www.law4u.com.au,
provides legal information content to a number of major Australian website portals,
including:
- AOL
- Ninemsn
- Sofcom
- Telstra
- TheLounge
Law4u was established in 1998 and launched nationally in February 1999 by Justice Michael Kirby of the High Court. Today Law4u has achieved a position as the premier, national, online legal information provider for consumers.
Lawscape’s objective is to provide people with increased access to legal information and to help people to make informed choices about how they deal with legal problems.

Paul brings over twenty years of business experience and financial expertise to Lawscape.
Prior to co-founding Lawscape, Paul was an equity partner in a large commercial and retail
enterprise with over thirty employees.

Robert has been a lawyer in private practice for over 15 years. He now specialises in legal
issues affecting older people, and runs a consultancy offering plain-English legal
information design, legal education and research. He is the author of a 400 page text
Older Residents and the Law, and over twenty publications for the public about varying
legal topics.

Geoffrey has been a practising solicitor and barrister for 15 years. He has appeared
frequently as an advocate in various courts and tribunals, and studied professional
writing at a post-graduate level. He has been an Executive Member of the Law Institute
of Victoria, the Chair of the Institute's Disability Law Committee, and has previously
owned and operated his own business.

Barker Australia, headed by Peter Barker, is a practice development consultancy that has
been serving the legal profession for 18 years.
Peter assists firms to prepare and present tenders and business proposals and is the author of Winning Tenders and Business Proposals for Lawyers.
Peter has undertaken a number of major marketing studies into the needs of legal and accounting users, business and government. Each year he presents a range of retreats and in-firm and independent seminars and workshops. Since 1988 Peter has lectured to accountants for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and to lawyers for FMRC Legal.
